Frequently asked questions

The questions we get before a first ride

Short answers, the same in every city we run. Anything not here, a person answers on the contact page, 24 hours a day.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Every car is commercially licensed and insured for carrying paying passengers, never on a personal policy. Every chauffeur is background-checked, and the records are re-checked every year.

What does flat rate mean?

One price for the whole ride, shown before you book and locked in once confirmed. It is set from your pickup and drop-off when you book, and nothing on the day moves it: not traffic, not the route the chauffeur takes, not how busy the evening is. No surge pricing. The price is all-in, with tolls, airport fees and parking already inside it, and gratuity is not required or expected. What the form shows is what you pay; the two things that can change it are a stop you add on the day and waiting past the free window, and we quote both to you before they are charged, never after.

Is this a shared shuttle?

No. Every booking is a private car for your party alone, no other passengers and no extra stops. The price covers the whole vehicle, not a seat in it.

How is the price worked out?

From the road distance between your two addresses, measured once on the usual route without traffic, so it does not move with the time of day: $80 for the pickup, then $6 a mile, with airport fees folded in and the total rounded up to the next $5. That is the Escalade's fare, the Suburban 10% less; the S 580, Maybach, Navigator and Sprinter priced upon request. A late-night pickup, 11pm to 6am, carries its own rate. The number the form shows is the number you pay. In a car priced upon request, a dispatcher quotes the ride by hand, usually within the hour.

What fees do you charge?

Every fare is all-in: tolls, bridge tolls, airport fees such as SFO's and parking are already in it, and a late-night pickup, 11pm to 6am, is priced into the fare you see. Gratuity is not required or expected. The one option with a price is meet and greet inside the terminal, $80, chosen when you review the booking; without it the car meets you at the curb. On the day, a stop you add and waiting past the free window are quoted before they are charged, and cleaning after a ride may be billed, as the terms say. We don't take pets, service animals excepted, and we don't supply child seats: bring your child's own.

Can I enter a custom address?

Yes. Type it into either field. Homes, offices, hospitals and venues are all ordinary bookings; the airports on the list are a shortcut, not a limit.

What if my flight is delayed?

Add your flight number and we track it. A late landing moves your pickup rather than losing it, with 120 minutes of free wait from the actual landing time. Waiting past that is quoted to you before it is charged.

How long will the chauffeur wait?

An hour, free, at a home, an office, a hotel or anywhere else that is not an airport, counted from the pickup time you booked. At an airport it is 120 minutes from the moment your flight actually lands. Waiting past either is quoted to you before it is charged, never after.

Do you do round trips?

Yes. Add the return ride when you book and it goes in as a ride of its own, with its own confirmation, so either leg can be changed without touching the other.

My trip does not fit the form.

Add stops on the way and tell us the plan in the notes, or send it in your own words from the contact page. A dispatcher comes back with a fare, usually within the hour.

Anything else? Ask when you book.
